Hitting the track tomorrow

Temperatures should be in the lower 60's, dropping into the 50's before the night's over.

Hopefully I'll beat my last time 14.180.

I'm bringing a tire pump this time so I'll let more air out of the fronts and add more to the rears. (I didn't want to drive 45 minutes outbound on 45psi rear and homebound on 18psi last time!)

So my tires will be at 18f/45r. Shocks at 1f/4r. Yoko AVSi's all around.

Any advice on dealing with cold track surfaces? It is very smooth and heavily rubber coated at the start. I had little trouble getting a 2.2 60' last time (my first time dragging).

Hey Holden, if i were you, this is what id do..

Front left tire at 21lbs, and front RIGHT tire at around 17lbs....kinda helps when you have an OPEN DIFF., like me...

Id also put 50lbs in the rears...less rolling resistance.

With this setup i can get 2.14 to 2.17 60fts all day long on my 205/40/17's, while launching at 4,000 rpms.

Tony: Sorry for the personal question, but how much do you weigh? I'm 185 pounds.

I'll follow your advice on mis-matched pressures, but if you're much larger than me I'll lower the driver's front pressure a little form what you say.

No problem....i weigh 175lbs.

I usually goto the track with about 2 gallons in the tank...

However, now that i installed my E.S. front swaybar bushings, im begining to get more wheelhop.....its not bad, but at the top of 1st gear itll kinda bounce a tad, not much, jus noticeable.

I guess, if i diconnected the bar, it would take care of ANY wheelhop......its not a big concern though

And abbou the tire psi, id jus play with it....those psi's work for me on A520's, jus have fun, thats what i do!

Holden you can do it man!!!...I hit a [email protected] a 2.1 60ft...with the drag radials on my friends Integra with a [email protected]/H/E...and full interior...it was a nice cool night(here in florida it was in the high 60's maybe?)....just make sure you lower the pressure and heat those drag radials up nice!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

The forecast low for tonight is 40 degrees by midnight, no rain. Since my 14.180 was at around 70 degrees, I should definitely get faster.

I'm realistically hoping for a 14.0##, but will bring my helmet just in case!

I'll be psyched to hear, "Here's your slip. Do you have a helmet?" WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

My brother's 240SX/SR20DET is still not broken in, so he's going to drive his 1986 Maxima (automatic!) for R/T practice. How high can the ET timer count?

btw, I don't have drag radials. I have Yoko AVSi's that are very worn from 50 or so autcross runs this summer.

I followed Max Psi GSR's advice exactly. Temperatures were 60F down to 55F.

BTW, My timing was set at 8 degrees. My brother forgot to bring the timing light so I ran as it was.

Going to bed psyched!
